SafeCase Mobile Android Installation | Print |
SafeCase: application for mobile phones (PDF)

SafeCase is developed in the programming language Java and runs on Android 2.1+.

The SafeCase installation package consists of the SafeCase.apk which is the standard Android application package.

The SafeCase installation process is similar to other Android apps installation procedures.

Installation of SafeCase from personal computer

To install SafeCase, copy the SafeCase.apk to your device and open your default application installer. If you do not have an application installer, download one from the market (some free installers include AppInstaller or Astro File Manager). From your installer find the SafeCase.apk and proceed as with any other Android application. Depending on your device configuration, you might be asked to confirm permissions.

After SafeCase is installed, you can start it like any other application from the application list, by selecting the SafeCase app.

SafeCase is digitally signed by using digital certificate of MP System LLC ( Sp. z o.o. ) to let the user and its mobile phone unambiguously identify the  application's code.

During the installation procedure you might be asked if you want to install the application on the SD card. We recommend installing SafeCase in the device internal memory for security and compatibility reasons.

SafeCase installation requires appx. 0,5 MB of phone's memory capacity. SafeCase stores data very effectively and therefore does not require a lot of memory.

Setting permissions

The SafeCase application is developed in Java programming language for the Android system and therefore takes advantage of its built-in security, restricting in-memory access to its data for other applications.

Additionally, the Android OS increases security by deploying strict access control to the device's resources for all installed applications. Each time the application requests access to the device's shared resources like connectivity, subdevices, memory etc. it obtains it only if the phone's user explicitly permits it. User permissions can be revoked at  any time.

SafeCase requires these permissions to work properly:

  • access to the phone state ( call status )
  • access to the phone camera

The application will ask for these permissions when it is being installed

Starting SafeCase

After having installed SafeCase you can find it in the Android Launcher, like any other application.

To start SafeCase select it from the list.
